The Monument of the Tsar Liberator

The author of the monument of the Tsar Liberator is the Florentine Arnoldo Zocchi. The monuments of Freedom in Rouse, of Garibaldi in Bologna and of Columbus in Buenos Aires are also created by him. The total height of this memorial in Sofia, containing sculptured scenes and heroes of the Rusian-Turkish war beneath the wings of the Goddess of Victory Nike is 16.5 m at National Assembly Square.

Upon an international competition held, and after spending 475 000 golden Levs, in 1907, on 12-meter marble pedestal, the horse of Emperor Alexander II steps.
