St. Cyril and St. Methodius National Library

The oldest cultural institution of Bulgaria after Liberation and the largest public library in the country. This library is situated beside the St Climent Ohridski University of Sofia. A cultural institution of national importance. It holds and keeps, and provides for use not only a valuable literary patrimony, but also a significant amount of other information sources, maintains the archive of Bulgarian books, which makes its collections especially valuable in the process of both national and international information exchange.  All the documents published in Bulgaria are deposited there. It also possesses monographs, periodical issues and other documents in different languages published all over the worlds. The library fund amounts to 7 808 928 library stock units. This library issues a specialized magazine focused to library theory and practice: Biblioteka Magazine.
